A study to evaluate the growth and flowering performance of gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii) using different media under Pampanga Agricultural College (PAC) condition was conducted from September to February 2000 at PAC, Magalang, Pampanga [Philippines]. The treatments were arranged following the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications. The treatments were as follows: T1 (Garden soil alone); T2 (Carbonized rice hull + garden soil); and T3 (Coir dust + garden soil). The results revealed that there was a significant difference among the three treatments. T2 significantly produced the most number of leaves. The other parameters such as plant height, number of flowers, diameter and length of flower stalks and the number of suckers developed did not produce significant results
