The trial was conducted at farmer's field at Bololmala, Tupi, South Cotabato for two years (January 1997-December 1998). The study's main objective was to determine the yield performance of strip cropping glutinous corn with pole sitao and glutinous corn with mungbean. Secondly, it aimed to compare the economic analysis of the experimental cropping system (ECS) with the farmer's cropping system (FCS). The economic analysis showed that in the plantings of strip cropping corn with pole sitao, the ECS consistently gave the highest net return of P13,907.42/ha during dry season (1997-98) and P29,606.06/ha during wet season (1998) with a MBCR of 2.72 and 3.01, respectively. ECS gave only a net return of P6,072/ha (1997-98 dry season) and P14,398/ha (1998 wet season). This means that for every peso added to the investment on the farmer's practice using the experimental cropping, there would be P1.72 and P1.25 (1997-98 DS) and P2.01 and P0.61 (1998 WS) of net return, respectively. Likewise, it also has an additional advantage over that of the farmer's practice in terms of cropping duration. The more croppings done in a year, the more income earned
