The effect of presowing seed treatment of Gibberellic acid (GA3) solutions on rate of germination and final percentage germination of grapefruit (C. paradisi Macf.), kinnow mandarin (C. reticulata Blanco) and rough lemon (C. limon L.) seeds was investigated. The seed size, coat thickness, thousand seed weight and polyembryony was found to be higher in case of grapefruit followed by kinnow mandarin and rough lemon while moisture content was higher in Kinnow mandarin followed by grapefruit. No significant effect of GA3 treatment on final percentage germination was observed and only had it a marginal effect on the rate of germination of both the citrus species. The treatments have not shown any effect on final percentage germination. The information documented here might be useful to understand role of GA3 and some morphological attributes on the physiology of Citrus seed germination.
