2001
Channar, M.A.
An experiment was conducted to study the growth yield traits of gram varieties under agro climatic conditions of Tandojam at Agriculture Research Institute, Tandojam during 1998. Plant height per plant was significantly affected by varieties. Variety E-1289 recorded taller plants in comparison other varieties and minimum plant height was noted in variety RC-32. Number of monopodial branches per plant affected significantly by varieties. Variety CM-1918 produced maximum number of monopodial branches over the rest varieties and minimum number of branches per plant was noted in variety E-1289. Number of sympodial branches per plant over varieties was highly significant. Variety CM-1918 produced significantly higher branches per plant than other varieties and lesser branches were noted in variety E-1289. Difference in number of pods per plant was affected significantly by the varieties. Variety CM-1918 produced significant higher per plant and equal to variety RC-32. Seed index was significantly affected by varieties. Variety RC-32 recorded maximum seed index (15.25%) as compared to rest of the varieties tested and minimum seed weight was noted in E-1289. Seed yield per hectare affected significantly by the varieties. Variety RC- 32 recorded the higher seed yield (1773.00), when compared with other varieties and maximum seed yield per hectare was noted in E-1289. It is concluded that gram variety CM-1918 performed better results under the agro climatic conditions of Tandojam.
