Efficacy of some insecticides mixture for the control of Thrips sp. on onion

Studies on efficiency of some insecticides mixture for the control of Thrips spp. on onion were carried out in the field at horticulture garden, Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam during 1997-98. The onion variety Phulkara was transplanted on ridges in a completely randomized block design with four replication of the five treatments. The insecticide viz. Aflix-30 EC, (0.p+0.c), Azophos (py+0.p), Almosd (0.p+py)m Power punch (0.p+py) were sprayed twice with a gap of 15 days. The thrips were recorded in the treated and the controls plots, to calculate the percentage, effectiveness of the insecticides. The result indicate that Azophos was proved to be every persistent up to the 10th day interval of the insecticide application where as Power punch and Aflix were effective up to 5 days interval .The data analysis showed that there was significant different between treatment as well as time interval. Data also showed that the plots treated with Azophos yielded more followed by Power punch, Aflix, Almosd and control plot.
