An experiment was conducted to assess the effect of different seed rates on the growth and yield of Canola variety Dunkled, at Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam during 1998-99. The variety Dunkled was tested against six different seed rates viz., 3.75, 5.00, 6.25, 7.50, 8.75 and 10.00 kg/ha in three replicated randomized complete block design, having net plot size of 22.5m2. Different observations were recorded on growth, yield and yield components and analyzed to test significance of differences for mean values of the treatments. The agronomic characters i.e., days to flowering, maturity, plant height, number of branches/plant and number of pods/plant including yield/ha was discussed. The maximum and minimum yield was obtained as 1232.5 kg/ha and 503,0 kg/ha under seed rate of 7.50 kg/ha and 3.75 kg/ha, respectively. It was concluded that seed rate of 7.50 kg/ha produced maximum yield.
