Variety differentiation of chlorophyll content in the leaves of winter cereals

In the pot and field experiments carried on in the years 1995-00 it was found that the content of chlorophyll in the leaves of winter wheat, triticale and winter rye is a variety dependent characteristic. Using hand-hold chlorophylometr-N-tester three groups of winter cereal varieties showing low, medium and high content of chlorophyll were differentiated. The differences in chlorophyll content between varieties were stabile in the years and independent of the crop supply with nitrogen
