Two cultivars of cherry tomato and large-fruited tomato were grown on rockwool Flormin under glass. Quality characteristics of fruits: dry matter, total sugars, vitamin C, titrable acidity, beta-carotene and lycopene content as well as colour and hardness of fruits were determined. The results obtained showed that cherry tomato fruits had more dry matter, total sugars, higher ratio of sugars to acids and more vitamin C than large fruit tomato. Beta-carotene content in fruits depended on the type and variety of tomato. Fruits of cherry tomato were less hard than large-fruited ones
