Role of market information in the opinion of farmers

The purpose of the study was to present the opinion of farmers concerning the of market information. The research included owners of small, medium and large farms. It was shown that the role and significance of market information was rising along with the growth of farmland. The information had greater influence on decisions concerning production and was more frequently used by agriculturalists owning larger farms. It is mainly they who would not object to paying for market information provided it was reliable. The basic sources of market information were TV programmes and publications of the Agricultural Advisory Centre in Wroclaw as well as agricultural magazines. The greatest demand for agricultural information was voiced in respect of selling markees, prices and price predictions
