Dynamic of development of different groups of microorganisms in the municipal sewage sediment under the cultivation of certain plants

Studies were conducted in a period of 4 years on sewage sludge where Sida hermaphrodita, Helianthus tuberosus and Salix viminalis were planted, and on control plots. Microbiological analyses determined the following: total number of bacteria and filiform fungi, number of cellulolytic, ammonification and nitrification bacteria. After 4 years of studies the sanitary state of the deposit and the soil was determined. The results showed that the experimental plants had a varying effect on the multiplication of the examined microorganism communities. They had a stimulating effect on some, for example the total number of bacteria, filiform fungi, ammonification bacteria and nitrification bacteria (except Salix viminalis), while having an inhibiting effect on other communities, for example cellulolytic bacteria. The microbiological analyses of the sewage sludge submitted to a 4-year-long transformation with plants showed that the greatest purifying effect was shown by Sida hermaphrodita. Studies of the sewage sludge under Salix viminalis indicated the presence of the eggs of Trichocephalus trichiura and Ascaris lumbricoides, which questions the safe residual utilization of the sewage sludge as an organomineral fertilizer for cultivable plants
