Effect of agricultural intensity on the condition of small water reservoirs

The research was conducted in rural areas of the Olsztyn Lake District in 1994-01, where fifty small water reservoirs were selected with differences in their catchment usage and type of water supply. The lowest concentrations of nutrients was found in water of reservoirs on grasslands. The highest pollution of surface water was on areas of intensive use of agricultural land (arable and fallow). Deterioration and vanishing of small water reservoirs lacated in outflowless depressions, supplied with water with high nutrient content was proved
