The aim of the study was estimation of potassium uptake by the meadow sward and its concentration in the soil under the conditions of differentiated fertilization, implemented in similar doses during 1983-99. It was stated that content of potassium in plants depended mainly on its dose, and in case of mineral fertilization also on the simultaneous application of phosphorus and nitrogen. In surface 20 cm layer of soil the amount of potassium was affected by the quantity of nutrient uptaken by crops
