Comparison of two types own hands constructed helicoidal static mixers to mixing flowing liquids

The mixers consisted of rectangular leaves symmetrically inserted into the steel rod and distributed fanwise in the shape of rotary helicoid. The effect of the mixing process was evaluated based on the study into changes of electrical conductivity of the liquid mix. It was observed that in the area of the laminar flow, the mixers allow for achieving mixing degree at the level of 0.85 which is probably caused by openwork construction and insufficient number of the repeatable helicoid modules.
