The course of experimental infection of 1-day-old Muscovy ducks with vaccine and virulent strains of Derzsy virus was investigated. The work presents detailed description of clinical signs, haematological changes and anatomopathological lesions occurring during infection. Obtained results allow to state that Derzsy disease virus belongs to the group of strong immunopressive viruses and the disease should be treated as immunopressive disease. The infection with Derzsy disease virus leads to cellular and humoral immunity impairment. The results of the investigation should be taken under consideration when immunoprophylaxy programs for ducks are constructed as immunoprophylaxy is not only prevention from economical losses but also from results of immunopression
