The field experiment has been realized at the experimental site Most near Bratislava. Cadmium ions distribution in soil profile was studied after application of phosphate fertilizer with known cadmium content. Cadmium content in different depths soil profile and preparation methods of soil extract have been compared. The results were non-representative, in particular due to soil heterogeneity. In the paper there are results of the laboratory adsorption experiments, by which cadmium adsorption on the sorption complex of loamy, medium heavy soil (Most near Bratislava) have been determined. The chemical and adsorption properties of this soil influenced the cadmium ions transfer in the soil profile and prohibited their expressive vertical advance to the groundwater
