[Introducing breeding forms of Morus alba L. in the South-East of Ukraine]

The thesis deals with identifying highly productive forms of Morus alba L. through revealing bioecological and anatomico-morphological specific features of the species within the South-East of Ukraine on the basis of the collection of Donetsky Botanical Gardens of NAN of Ukraine. For the first time in the region, a complete complex introduction analysis is conducted; differences between introduced plants and those of local ecotypes at ontogenesis as well as morphogenesis stages are distinguished. Data on cytological and morphological research are obtained. The optimum technology of vegetative reproduction of white mulberries is worked out. The collection of Morus alba L. in the South-East of Ukraine is created. Recommendations on growing white mulberry are developed. Highly productive breeding forms of Morus alba L. adapted to local conditions are disclosed. The most promising forms of fruit are selected and described, and on the basis thereof tree large-fruited varieties with excellent organoleptic properties are developed
