The origin of the Belgrade of Natural History Museum Petrological Collection
2001
Milic-Babic, T. (Prirodnjacki muzej, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
The cornerstones of this collection were laid in the second half of the 19th century by Jasif Pancic, the founder of natural sciences and the first natural history collections in Serbia. The basis of the modern Petrological Collection were the samples obtained from the Great School, Ministry of People's Agriculture, and the Municipality of Rudnicki Okrug in the period 1901 - 1903. The original Petrological Collection comprised an estimated 120 samples.
