Effect of some ameliorants on the number and dynamics of ammonifying bacteria, fungi and copper and arsenic tolerant fungi at paddy soil contaminated with copper and arsen

A laboratory experiment with paddy soil was carried out. The paddy soil contaminated with Cu and As from the waters of dam lake Topolnica. The number and dynamics of ammonifying bacteria, fungi and Cu and As tolerant fungi were investigated. The obtained results showed that the applied ameliorants such as Fe(OH)2 and composts significantly reduced Cu and As toxicity to ammonifying bacteria and fungi. A sensitivity index (SE) as reliable indicator for soil microbial changes of is suggested for further investigations.
