The efficiency of milk replacer in calf feeding

The trial was conducted on three groups of Friesian calves to investigate the usefulness of milk replacers. Experiment lasted 30 days. The control group received full-fat milk, the first experimental group received domestic milk replacer and the second experimental group received imported milk replacer. All group were fed ad lib with concentrate mixture with 18% crude protein, lucerne hay and water. During the experimental period the biggest growth and the best feed conversion ratio was achieved in the calves in control group, which received cow's milk. Calves that received domestic milk replaced had intermediate result while the calves that received imported milk replacer had the lowest performances.
