[Evaluation of functionality state and safety of earthfill dams]

Earthfill dams osculpation includes observed factors and appearances concerning its functionality and safety. This paper indicate some significant stability factors, both different impacts to dam and dam impact on upstream and downstream zones, as well as on the dam site itself. The paper indicates and suggests confidence limits of some observing factors and the dam pasport for each one. Also it is considered how the problem of not proper dam maintenance could cause its faster getting old together with the change of dam characteristics with time, as well as a possible dam damage and failure up to 15-20 m high.
