The content of Pb in urban soil is examined in the area close to busy roads in the urban area of Novi Sad (Serbia, Serbia&Montenegro). Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) method is used to determine the total Pb in the layer of soil at the depth of 0-10 cm. The average value of Pb content for 19 soil samples near 7 busy crossroads is 343.1 mg/kg, which is 3.5 times higher than the maximum allowable concentration (MAC). The regression analysis is applied to experimental results in order to determine the correlation between the concentration of Pb in soil and the distance from the crossroad along the road.
