Checklist of the bees in the Czech Republic and Slovakia with comments on their distribution and taxonomy (Insecta: Hymenoptera: Apoidea)

The aim of this paper was to update the checklist of the bee fauna in the Czech and Slovak Republics. Inaccuracies occurring in the Kocourek's checklist were corrected and new records summarized. In total, 431 bee species were found in Bohemia, 543 in Moravia, and 625 in Slovakia. The most important records of species are as follows: Hylaeus trinotatus, Andrena pontica, Halictus resurgens, H. smaragdulus, Lasioglossum bavaricum, L. cupromicans, L. lissonotum, Sphecodes majalis, Melitta wankowiczi, Megachille flabellipes, Coelioxys alata, Anthidium septemspinosum, Melecta aegyptiaca, Pyrobombus (Cullumanobombus) semenoviellus, P. (Melanobombus) sicheli.
