Development and weathering of minerals in loess and in soils
2002
Pecsi, M. | Nemecz, E. | Hartyani, Zs.
In the Carpathian Basin lowland loesses, especially the infusion loesses found on the higher levels of flood plains, are the most frequently encountered loess deposits. Their grain size distribution and texture was attributed by Pecsi (1982) to steppe soil formation, not to of the accumulation of its material. Recently Nemecz and Hartyani (1995) carried out detailed granulometric and mineralogical investigations into Hungarian soils formed on loess and paleosols interbedded in loess sequences studied in sections.
