[Downy mildew resistance differences and yield losses of 12 lines/varieties of Zea mays]

英语. Downy mildew (DM) resistance differences and yield losses of 12 maize lines/varieties was studied at Bajeng Research Station, South Sulawesi in 1999. The two factors experiment was arranged in split-plot design using 3 replications. Application of fungicide and untreated were used as main plot, and 12 varieties/lines were placed as sub plot. The plot size was 5 m x 6 m, space between rows was 75 cm, and in row was 40 cm. Three seeds were planted in each hole. The results indicated that any differences of varieties/lines in their resistance to DM. STJ 9637 line showed the most resistant among others, followed by Lagaligo, Bayu, STJ 9635, STJ 9602, STJ 9601, Abimanyu, STJ 9708, Sadewa, Nakula, Pulut Takalar, and the most susceptible was Genjah Kretek, with DM infection were 6.5 percent; 7.7 percent; 10.3 percent; 10.7 percent; 15.2 percent; 19.8 percent; 27.8 percent; 33.7 percent; 40.8 percent; 46.6 percent; 46.7 percent; and 52.2 percent; and with yield losses (0.49; 0.33; 0.32; 0.56; 0.7; 1.0; 0.55; 1.91; 1.05; 0.97; 1.01; and 0.68) ton/ha respectively

印度尼西亚. Perbedaan ketahanan terhadap penyakit bulai dan kehilangan hasil 12 varietas jagung telah diteliti di Bajeng Sulawesi Selatan pada tahun 1999. Percobaan ditata dalam rancangan petak terpisah dengan 3 ulangan. Dua petak utamanya yaitu perlakuan fungisida melalui benih dan tanpa fungisida. Dua belas varietas jagung ditempatkan sebagai anak petak. Petak percobaan berukuran 5 m x 6 m, jarak tanam 75 cm x 40 cm tiap lubang ditanami 3 biji. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan adanya perbedaan ketahanan varietas/galur jagung terhadap penyakit bulai. Galur STJ 9637 memperlihatkan ketahanan paling tinggi, diikuti varietas Lagaligo, Bayu, STJ 9635, STJ 9602, STJ 9601, Abimanyu, STJ 9708, Sadewa, Nakula, Pulut Takalar, dan yang paling rentan Genjah Kretek masing-masing dengan persentase bulai 6.5 persen; 77.7 persen; 10.3 persen; 10.7 persen; 15.2 persen; 19.8 persen; 27.8 persen; 33.7 persen; 40.8 persen; 46.6 persen; 46.7 persen; and 52.2 persen; dan dengan kehilangan hasil masing-masing 0.49 t/ha; 0.33 t/ha; 0.32 t/ha; 0.56 t/ha; 0.7 t/ha; 1.0 t/ha; 0.55 t/ha; 1.91 t/ha; 1.05 t/ha; 0.97 t/ha; 1.01 t/ha; dan 0.68 t/ha
