A field experiment was conducted during kharif seasons of 1998 and 1999 at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya farm in sandy clay loam soil of neutral reaction (pH 7.1) to study the response of irrigation (without irrigation and one irrigation at early pod filling stage), potassium (0, IS and 30 kg K2O ha*1) and sulphur (0, 15 and 30 kg S ha"1 ) on growth and seed yield of greengram. The crop responded significantly to irrigation potassium and sulphur application. Application of potassium and sulpher significantly increased dry matter accumulation, number of pods/plant, number of seeds per pod, test weight and seed yield. The interaction effect between potassium and sulphur, between irrigation and potassium and between irrigation and sulphur was significant. Highest seed yield (1370 kg ha~') was obtained when crop was fertilized with 30 kg K2O ha"1 along with 30 kg S ha"1.
