Ranikhet disease (RD) has been reported to affect a wide variety of aves which include both domestic and wild birds. Emus (Dromaius novaehollandiae) are large flightless birds originating in Australia and raised commercially in different parts of the globe for its meat and oil. In India, emus are reared in a few places for its commercial value and not much information is available about the diseases affecting these birds under Indian farming conditions. The present communication describes an out look of Ranikhet disease in emus in India.
