Evaluation of Aonla (Emblica officinalis Gaertn) seedling progenies

An investigation was carried out to evaluate the eight year old Aonla seedling progenies for their yield, fruit characters and physico-chemical studies. Among the 18 genotypes NEO-32, 11/9, NEO-37, NEO-30, NEO-38 and NEO-41 were found promising (104.07 kg, 77.79 kg, 75.41 kg, 68.54 kg, 68.53 kg and 66.86 kg yield per tree respectively). The higher crown size (6.85 m) and frujit yield per tree (104.07 kg) were found in tree number NEO-32. Higher fruit weight (21.2 g) and per cent pulp was found in genotype number 17/5. The higher ascorbic acid content (550.47 mg/100 g pulp) was found in NEO-41. Whereas least ascorbic acid content (437.34 g/100g pulp) was found in tree number 10/7.
