Bioassay test were conducted under laboratory conditions to assess the efficacy of commercial Bacillus thuringiensis var. kurstaki (Btk) (Biolep) formulation against different larval instars of diamondback moth (DB'M) Plutella xylostella L. The results indicated that commercial Btk formulation was found to be highly effective against third and fourth instar DBM larvae. The neonate larvae were found to be tolerant when composed to latter instars. Relative susceptibility of the all four instars to Biolep was also calculated on the basis of their LC5( values. The cumulative mean per cent mortality of larval population after 72 h of 0.01 per cent Biolep concentration exposure was observe to be 16.67, 53.33, 86.67 and 66.67 with first, second, third and fourth larval instars, respectively. The results obtained on sensitivity of different larval instars to Btk formulation were discussed.
