Effect of induced hyperthyroidism by thyroxine injection on cardiovascular function in canine model

Thyroid hormone controls the metabolic rate in all cells and changes in thyroid gland results in subclinical symptoms, especially in cardio-vascular function. Hyperthyroidism was experimentally induced by excess iodine feeding in dogs. In the present study the influence of L-Thyroxine administered intravenously is studied on certain aspects of cardio vascular functions especially ECG, blood pressure and heart rate.
