Danok3, a sweet corn hyvrid that matures early was developed by the corn breeding team at the National Crop Experiment Station (NCES), RDA in 2001. Inbred KSS2 derived from Golden Bantam was used as the seed parent of Danok3, and inbred KSS22 derived from Precedent as the pollen parent. Silking date of this hybrid was one day earlier than that of check hybrid, Gokden Cross Bantam 70 (GCB70), under plastic mulching cultivation. This normal sugary variety, Danok3, has very good emergence and seedling vigor under moderate environmental stress. Danok3 was 17.6 cm in ear length and 4.5 cm in ear diameter. It had yellow kernels and good eating quality. The ratio of kernel set length/ear length was similar to GCB70. It is moderately resistant to Biporalis maydis and corm borer. The yields of Danok3 in fresh ear weight and in number of fresh ear were 16% and 8%, respectively, higher than those of a check hybrid.
