Performance of okra (Hibiscus esculentus, L.) varieties in the up lands of Balochistan [Pakistan]

Performance of four exotic and one indigenous variety of okra was tested in this trial at Agricultural Research Institute, Sariab, Quetta, for height of plant, number of branches per plant, length and weight of single fruit, number of fruits per plant and finally yield per plot. Among these varieties Sele:-002-95 was the best followed by Sabazpari and local composite, while the perkins dwarf was the poorest. Varieties with greater height and more branches per plant gave more yield.
