The aim of the study was to assess the activity of selected soil enzymes nine years after the fire. Investigations were carried out on sities representing the former two coniferous forest types, with natural or artificial regeneration, using plots not subjected to the fire as control. On the investigated sities urease activity decreased by 50 percent, and asparaginase and acid phosphatase by almost 80 percent. The obtained results suggests that nine years after the forest fire, the soil restoration has not been finished
