Macronutrients uptake efficiency of spring cereal mixtures at different stages of their growth

Field experiments wih barley, oats and triticale grown in pure stands and in substitute mixtures with equal proportion of the species were carried on in the years 1996-98 on light soil at Swojec. The plant samples were collected at three-week intervals after plant emergence and analysed for the content of nitrogen, phosphorus and potasium. The uptake of nutrients with biomass yield of mixture, was not significantly higher than its uptake with biomass yield of the more efficient component in pure stand
