[Ecological state and properties of peat soils while using thereof differently]

Analyzed is the ecological state of swamp and bog soils which occupy 4.6 % of Ukraine's total area. The investigations of swamp lands were carried out on the objects where they are involved in agricultural production (flooded lands of the Irpin river) and in a nature cenose in a preserve zone of the Ovruch rayon of the Zhytomyr oblast. Tabulated are physical and chemical special features thereof and the balance of organic substances in the swamp lands of the Irpin river. The peatlands require a complex of measures aimed at protecting and preserving thereof
