Field key to the family hipposideridae (leaf-nosed bats) of Thailand

Study on the identification key for field use of the leaf-nosed bats of the Family Hipposideridae is based principally on relevant literature and preserved specimens in the collection of TISTR. Total of 14 species of Thai leaf-nosed bats can be simply keyed out by using external facial characteristics, forearm measurement and body color. Once identified, the bats can be released for further studies. This non-destructive method for field key will help in conservation of bat species by avoiding taking voucher specimens.
