Analysis of size and body condition of imported Australlan Brahman cow under Ang Thong village conditions

Present study was carried out from 118 imported Australian Brahman cows raised in 7 amphoes of Ang Thong province. The province located in Central Thailand about 117 km from Bangkok. Ang Thong has been known as the low plain area with an average rainfall of 1,099.8 mm per year with bad drainage characteristic suitable for rice cultivation. The body weight and sizes including condition score of these beef cows were measured by the portable scale and were analysed by using Statistical Analysis System package. It was found that these cows raised under small farm conditions of Ang Thong had average body weight, length, height (to pelvic), height (to wither), heart girth, pelvic area, and body condition score of 402 kg, 148 cm, 136 cm, 127 cm, 173 cm, 1,377 square cm, and 5.36, respectively. Cattle raised in different districts had different body weight and measurement (p.05).
