Hrabak, B.(Arhiv Jugoslavije, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
On the basis of reports received by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Serbia (Yugoslavia), analysed by its head M. Savic, the author first surveys the geological composition of the soil, ownership structure in the agriculture and the effects of the resettlements. The first part presents the characteristics related to the cereals, oil crops, sugar beet, potato, vegetables, hemp, flax and hay. The second part analyses wine and fruit growing. The third section is dedicated to cattle-breeding, particularly to pig-breeding and fishery, as well as to the processing of cattle-breeding products. The last section discusses the minor branches of rural economy: gathering of medicinal herbs, flower-growing and the similar enterprizes. Rural economy of Banat was diverse, the use of resources quite intensive, so the production was export-oriented.
