The aim of this project was to examine the interaction of salicylic acid (SA) and cadmium (Cd)in growth of alfalfa seedlings. The results indicated that protective effect of SA on Cd phytotoxicity was not by inhibition of Cd uptake or transport into seedlings, and may be a basis for applied investigations in agriculture, horticulture and phytoremediation.
