Variability of cuttings rooting characters and their relationship with cuttings survival rate for poplars of section Aegeiros

The results presented in this paper suggets that the characters of root are important for survival of cuttings in dry years, but they are far less significant in years with sufficient rain. On the other side shoot characters, in spite weak influence of genotype and interaction genotype x year on their variation thanks to their strong correlation with survival in bought years. The results presented in this paper could be significant in breeding process and in design of cultivar - specific technology.
