The author sums up the experimental animal requirements of the pesticide registration in Hungary. He refers briefly to the 150-year practice before 1968 in wich the toxicological aspects do not get on. The article shows the changes in chronological order in the last 36 years and the legal prescriptions of the regulation. The paper mentions the changes and requirements of supply of data with accent on this special field in the time of the EU accession.
