Well designed and organised seed centres are required as a first step towards ensuring that seeds are available at the right place, at the right time and in sufficient quantities. There is the need to identify and manage seed sources to ensure frequent, abundant and easily harvested crops of seed. Planning strategies for seed collection have been discussed. Seed collection, seed handling precautions, processing, testing and storage of seeds have been discussed. Possible means of seed distribution have also been mentioned.
