The occurrence and importance of some wood decay fungi in Ghana.
1976
Ofosu-Asiedu, A.
Tabulates and discusses the results of a survey of wood-decay fungi in forests, sawmills, stacked wood (of various species), and wooden structures in southern Ghana. Most of the common decay fungi had a wide host range and were uniformly distributed throughout the vegetational zones. It is concluded that five of these wood-decay fungi (Coriolopsis polyzona, Gloeophyllum striatum, Pycnoporus sanguineus, Schizophyllum commune, and Trametes cingulata) could be selected for the evaluation of natural durability and preservatives on the lesser-known Ghanaian timbers.
