The Ghana plank markets - petty traders they may be but their role is understated.
1976
Adams, M. J.
Considers the need to encourage the domestic markets of Ghana and other developing countries as a support and additional outlet for export-orientated wood production. Development of Ghana's domestic market is at present hindered by concentration on export products (making local supplies expensive) and by an undercapitalized market system. Details are given of the trading pattern, customs and prices in the Anloga market in Kumasi where a large number of traders market export rejects and lumber and firewood locally 'reconverted' from sawmill waste.
