Bioconversion of waste of corn cobs to diet as protein sources

英语. Bioconversion of corn cobs through their conversion to protein sources in diets was investigated using Neurospora sp. as the converting agent. The effect of contain substrates added to the corn cobs in the bioconversion was determined. The mixed substrates stridulated with the mushroom were i. corn cob alone, ii. 95 percent corn cob + 5 percent rice bran, iii. 90 percent corn cob + 10 percent rice bran, iv. 95 percent corn cob + 5 percent cassava crust meal, v. 90 percent corn cob + 10 percent cassava crust meal. The bioconversion yielding the highest protein level (28 percent) was obtained from the substrate 95 percent corn cob + 5 percent rice bran. Protein levels given by other substrates studied were not different each other statistically

Penelitian ini didesain dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan susunan perlakuan: T1 (tongkol jagung 100 persen), T2 (tongkol jagung 95 persen + dedak padi 5 persen), T3 (tongkol jagung 90 persen + dedak padi 10 persen), T4 (tongkol jagung 95 persen + tepung kulit singkong 5 persen), T5 (tongkol jagung 90 persen + tepung kulit singkong 10 persen). Masing-masing perlakuan tersebut diulang 2 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan T2 yakni substrat tongkol jagung 95 persen + dedak padi 5 persen yang telah ditumbuhi Neurospora sp. mengalami peningkatan kandungan protein tertinggi, yakni dari 13 persen menjadi 27,96 persen bila dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lainnya. Kandungan protein pada perlakuan T1, T3, T4 dan T5 tidak berbeda nyata (P lebih besar dari 0.05). Perlakuan T1, T2, T3, T4 dan T5 tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kandungan lemak dan serat kasar tongkol jagung
