Seven species of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi were found living in association with corn rhizosphere in Java. Three species of Acaulospora, i.e. Acaulospora rehmii, A. scrobiculata and Acaulospora sp. 1, were identified. Three species of Glomus, i.e. Glomus aggregatum, G. etunicatum and Glomus sp. 1 were found in the soil, whereas only one species of Scutellospora detected was Scutellospora calospora. Glomus aggregatum was the most abundant species, whereas Acaulospora rehmii, Acaulospora sp. 1 and Glomus sp. 1 were the rarest occurence. The investigation to the corn roots showed that there were the infections of arbuscular mycorrhiza fungi by the presence of the structures i.e. internal hypha, arbuscules, vesicles and hypha coils
