The proline content was used to predict the rate of deterioration on corn seed that have treated with ascorbic acid and germinated on NaCl stress condition. Two seed lots of Arjuna's cultivar, high quality and low quality, were primed in ascorbic acid solution and germinated on papers media that previously soaked in Natrium chloride solution. There were no difference response of the lots of the priming. On the other hand, Natrium chloride solution suppressed the germinability of corn seed. The proline content from the lots that previously treated with Natrium chloride is higher than non treated lot (control). Moreover, from the scatter plot analysis can be summarized the evidence of close relationship between proline content and quality of the corn seed. More higher the proline content of the seeds, more lower the quality of them
