英语. Setora nitens Walker (Lepidoptera: Limacodidae) is one of coconut leaf pest. The larvae is an active stadium damage to leaf caused transparence holes in two-sides leaves. Study was conducted in The Farming System Installation of Coconut, Parungkuda, Sukabumi, West Java about 450 m above sea level with the aim was to know the population of S. nitens on five cultivars studied. Five cultivars were studied by field observation with 7 x 7 m; they were: 1. Genjah Salak (GSK), 2. Genjah Hijau Jombang (GHJ), 3. Genjah Kuning Jombang (GKJ), 4 Genjah Coklat Jombang (GCJ) and 5. Genjah Merah Jombang (GMJ). S. nitens larvae was taken with random sampling. At each tree, damaged leaf and population of S. nitens larvae on each stem coconut leaf were counted, beginning from lowest stem by the right rotation. Result of the study showed that sum stem attacked by S. nitens were 5.74-8.33. The highest showed on GSK and the lowest on GMJ. Population average of larvae per stem from highest to lowest is cultivars GSK = 5.43; GHJn = 4.50; GCJ = 2.58; GKJ = 2.29 and GMJ = 1.22 respectively. Here showed that S. nitens population have correlation with plant damage, where the highest pest population was on cultivars GSK 5.43/stem with level of damage 97.22 percent, and the lowest population was on cultivars GMJ 1.22/stem with level of damage 84.62 percent

Larva merupakan stadia yang aktif merusak menyebabkan anak daun berlubang-lubang transparan hingga rusak pada ke dua sisinya. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Instalasi Penelitian Loka Penelitian Polatanam Kelapa Pakuwon, Parungkuda, Sukabumi pada ketinggian 450 m dpl dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui serangan hama S. nitens pada lima kultivar kelapa Genjah. Penelitian dilakukan secara observasi di lapangan pada lima kultivar kelapa, jarak tanamam 7 x 7 m sistim bujur sangkar yaitu: 1. Genjah Salak (GSK); 2. Genjah Hijau Jombang (GHJ); 3. Genjah Kuning Jombang (GKJ); 4. Genjah Coklat Jombang (GCJ) dan 5. Genjah Merah Jombang (GMJ). Pengambilan sampel larva S. nitens dilakukan dengan metode Random Sampling. Pada masing-masing pohon, pelepah yang rusak akibat serangan hama dan populasi larva S. nitens pada setiap pelepah daun kelapa dimulai dari pelepah terbawah dengan arah putaran ke kanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah pelepah yang terserang hama S. nitens berkisar antara 5.74-8.33, tertinggi dijumpai pada kelapa Genjah Salak (GSK) dan terendah terdapat pada kelapa Genjah Merah Jombang (GMJ). Populasi rataan larva per pelepah dari yang tertinggi sampai terendah berturut-turut adalah kultivar GSK = 5.43 ekor; GHJ = 4.50 ekor; GCJ = 2.58 ekor; GKJ = 2.29 ekor dan GMJ = 1.22 ekor
