Present paper is an attempt to examine the influence of different factors on milk productivity of different categories of milch animals in Sameerwadi sugar factory operational area of northern Karnataka. The Cobb-Douglas type of production function was found to be the good fit to the milk production data as indicated by the very high value of Rý and significant F values. The results of the stepdown regression estimates revealed that, the coefficient of concentrates and herd size were significant in crossbred cows, labour and fodder inputs were significant in indigenous cows and buffalo. In addition to this herd size was found to be the important variable influencing the milk production.
