The article discusses the issues of energy supply of Latvian farmsteads of various total areas under crop, and the issue of quantitative and qualitative renewal of tractors. The data analysis shows that the specific energy supply of peasants' homesteads, household plots, individual subsidiary farms having, on the average, 3.7 ha areas under crop for the interval 1-50 ha, constitutes 5.5 kW/ha, and 1.76 kW/ha when the area is 134.7 ha for the interval 50-300 ha. The structure of tractors on peasants' homesteads, household plots, individual subsidiary farms varies towards raising their energy intensity, but these variations are significant. Thus, in 2000 the percentage of tractors with the power exceeding 60 kW was 25.5% including 100 kW 3.9%, but in 2003 - 28.8% and 4.1%, respectively. A quantitative and qualitative change of tractors takes place; so in the period 2000-2003 their number increased by 5%, and the power by 9%.
