Present studies were designed to find out the role of endogenousGibberellin like compounds in production of low quality in leafy fruits ofSatsuma mandarin. Gibberellin-like activity in the leafy and leafless fruitlets ofSatsuma mandarin grafted on Troyer citrange, Sour orange and Trifoliateorange rootstock was tested with lettuce hypocotyl elongation test. Resultsshowed that Gibberellin-like activity in the leafy fruitlets was considerablyhigher than the leafless fruitlets in Troyer citrange. Like wise Gibberellin-likeactivity in the leafy fruitlets of Satsuma mandarin grafted on Sour orange andTrifoliate orange was also higher than that of leafless fruitlets. Comparison ofthe leafy fruitlets indicated that maximum gibberellin like activities were notedin case of Trifoliate rootstock which was followed by Troyer citrange and Sourorange, respectively.
